17 Year Old Wife Kills Stepson In Benue
Mrs. Nguemo Ikyowe, a 17-year-old, has been taken into custody for the murder of her three-year-old stepson, Vanen Ikyowe, in Ginde Village, Guma Local Government Area, Benue State.
Operatives from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, or NSCDC, took her into custody.
Mrs. Larai Bitrus, the state commandant of the Benue NSCDC, informed reporters that the suspect was taken into custody on September 12, 2024, in Ginde Village, within the Guma Local Government Area of the State, on suspicion of culpable homicide.
According to her, this happened in response to a distress call received by the public on September 12th, reporting that a Nguemo had killed a three-year-old boy in Ginde Village, Guma Local Government Area, and disposed of his body in a nearby river.
“Our men who were stationed at Ginde Village responded quickly to the scene, apprehending the suspect who later admitted to the crimes when questioned.
“The boy’s lifeless body was found by their officers on the suspect’s direction, and they took it to a mortuary in Ginde Village.
Bitrus declared, “Since the crime is against the state, she will be turned over to the Nigerian Police Force for potential prosecution following their investigation.”
