Cholera: Borno State Govt Confirms Two New Cases Of Cholera
Two cholera cases have been reported by the Borno Government in one of the camps housing flood victims in Maiduguri.
This was announced on Monday by Prof. Baba Malum Gana, the State Commissioner of Health, who also announced the start of an oral cholera, measles, and vitamin A supplementation program in Maiduguri.
He mentioned that the laboratory has been contacted about four more suspected instances for confirmation. He claims that the impacted camp has been cleaned and fumigated.
We have four suspected cases related to this floods that the Rapid Diagnosis Test confirmed.
Two instances were verified to be positive after the samples were transferred to the National Reference Laboratory.
“Since the flood, we have taken action against cholera and the patients have already been released,” Gana stated.
