Nigerians Laments Over The Recent Payout Of Hamster Coin

The much-awaited airdrop from the cryptocurrency-mining software, Hamster Kombat, which had been trending for months, has caused an uproar for thousands of Nigerians.

Users anticipated large payouts promised by the coin’s supporters after five tough months of nonstop tapping to gain rewards—some even fantasizing of becoming billionaires.

The truth, however, struck hard when the coin officially released on Thursday: unlike the enormous financial gains users had been expecting. The coin failed woefully in its listing price.

Angry users are lamenting receiving as little as ₦2.75 for their efforts, causing social media to become a flame of fury.
Instead of making common Nigerians into billionaires or CEOs, as the campaign had claimed, it has caused a great deal of dissatisfaction and resentment.

What was supposed to be a life-changing opportunity has turned out to be a terrible letdown, leaving the once-optimistic community of tappers filled with “tears and wailings.” As a result, many have deleted the mini app. Some have even alleged the airdrop to be “dust”.

Dust is a term used to describe an airdrop that doesn’t satisfy it’s community (online expectation).

Although, Hamster launched it season 2 last week, this recent allocation would demotivate users in participating in the app. Recall,  Hamster Kombat was season one started in  March 2024.
