Alabama’s Hopes for College Football Playoff Take a Hit

The Alabama Crimson Tide’s chances of making it to the College Football Playoff took a significant blow after their 24-3 loss to Oklahoma on Saturday night. The defeat marked Alabama’s third loss of the season, the first time this has happened since 2010.

Alabama’s quarterback, Jalen Milroe, had a tough night, throwing three interceptions and struggling to make an impact on the game. The Crimson Tide’s offense was unable to get going, with the team managing just 70 rushing yards, their lowest total of the season.

Oklahoma, on the other hand, had a strong game, with quarterback Jackson Arnold and freshman running back Xavier Robinson leading the charge. The Sooners’ rushing attack proved too much for Alabama’s defense, with the team managing 257 rushing yards in the first half alone.

The loss is a significant setback for Alabama, who had been hoping to make a push for the College Football Playoff. With the defeat, the Crimson Tide’s postseason hopes are now uncertain, and they will need to win their remaining games and hope for other teams to slip up if they are to have any chance of making the playoff.

Indiana’s Playoff Hopes Still Alive Despite Loss to Ohio State

Despite their 38-15 loss to Ohio State on Saturday, Indiana’s coach, Curt Cignetti, is confident that his team still deserves a spot in the College Football Playoff. The Hoosiers had been one of the most dominant teams in the country, with a 10-1 record and a number of impressive wins.

However, their strength of schedule has been questioned, and the loss to Ohio State has raised doubts about their ability to compete with the top teams in the country. Despite this, Cignetti is adamant that his team has done enough to warrant a playoff spot.

“We’ve had a great season, and I think we’ve shown that we’re one of the top teams in the country,” Cignetti said. “We’ve got a tough game coming up against Purdue, but I’m confident that we can win that and make a strong case for the playoff.”

The College Football Playoff selection committee will announce its rankings on Tuesday, and it remains to be seen whether Indiana will be included. However, with a number of other teams still in contention, it’s likely to be a close call.
