Barca Suffers Heavy Injury On Two Players

Barcelona Suffers Double Blow as Lewandowski and Yamal Sustain Injuries

La Liga leaders Barcelona have been dealt a significant injury setback, with star forwards Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal ruled out for the upcoming international break. The duo’s absence will be deeply felt, particularly with crucial matches on the horizon.

Lewandowski, the 36-year-old Polish striker, suffered a back injury during Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad. The match was marked by controversy, with Lewandowski’s potential equalizer being disallowed. Barcelona confirmed that Lewandowski is experiencing lumbar discomfort and will require approximately 10 days of rest.

As a result, Lewandowski will miss Poland’s Nations League clashes against Portugal and Scotland. However, he is expected to return to action for Barcelona’s league match against Celta Vigo on November 23.

Meanwhile, 17-year-old forward Lamine Yamal has been sidelined with a right ankle injury, which forced him to miss Sunday’s fixture against Real Sociedad. Yamal’s recovery timeline is estimated at two to three weeks, ruling him out of Spain’s matches against Denmark and Switzerland.

Yamal’s injury also places him in doubt for Barcelona’s Champions League fixture against Brest on November 26 and the subsequent La Liga game against Las Palmas. This is a significant blow, considering Yamal’s impressive start to the season, with six goals in 15 appearances
