Four Men Bag Imprisonment For Cable Theft
Four guys were each given a one-month term at a correctional facility by a Wuse Zone 6 Magistrates’ Court in Abuja on Tuesday for stealing armored electric lines.
Magistrate Mercy Tiwatope sentenced the convicted defendants, Sadiq Iseh, Ibrahim Abubakar, Bashir Abubakar, and Idris Usman, all of Airport Road, Abuja.
They had all entered guilty pleas to the accusations against them. After the quartet pleaded guilty to counts of criminal conspiracy, mischief, and theft, Tiwatope found them guilty and punished them.
However, the magistrate advised the guilty to refrain from committing crimes in the future and offered them the chance to pay a punishment of N50,000 apiece.

According to Abah, the offenders vandalized armored electric cables owned by the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) and committed the offenses at Wuse 2 on Kashim Ibrahim Way.
According to him, the criminals were nabbed by one Inspector Danjuma Musa of the Police Mobile Force. The prosecution stated that 22 pieces of vandalized armored wires were found on the prisoners during police questioning and investigation.
According to Abah, the offenses violate Penal Code Sections 97, 327, and 287. (NAN).
