Lincoln University Welcomes 500 Students To The University Environment
Professor Bibi Florina, the pro-chancellor of Lincoln University College in Malaysia, has reaffirmed the university’s commitment to developing future leaders via excellence in global academics.
Speaking recently during the university’s first matriculation ceremony at the Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) campus, Professor Florina predicted that the collaboration between Lincoln University and NSUK will be crucial in determining the direction of education in Nigeria.
Over 500 students were admitted into the various academic programs approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) and the Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) at the nascent institution on the NSUK Campus, she claimed.
She mentioned that the Transnational Education Programme (TNE) of the National Universities Commission (NUC) led to the founding of Lincoln University College in Nigeria.
Through this cooperation, academic growth and cross-border exchange are expected to be fostered, as well as new opportunities for students and faculty.
“Lincoln University is committed to producing not only knowledgeable graduates but also skilled, job-creating entrepreneurs,” she stated, citing the curriculum’s 70% practical training and 30% theoretical emphasis.
During an address on the mission of the university, which is to provide access to top-notch education in Nigeria.
The university’s founder and president, Professor Amiya Bhaumik, revealed that 2,400 students had received 80 percent scholarships, enabling many of them to pay tuition that is comparable to that of government institutions.
He emphasized that the program is a part of the university’s effort to offer high-caliber education at a reasonable cost.
She declared that Lincoln University College’s presence in Nigeria and the students who will gain from its internationally acclaimed education have a bright future ahead of them, as evidenced by the success of the first matriculation.
Along with parents and well-wishers, representatives from professional associations, government agencies, the commercial sector, and foreign organizations attended the ceremony.
