NECO Releases Result Of Recently Concluded Examination
The June/July 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results have been made public by the National Examinations Council (NECO).
On Thursday in Minna, Niger State, NECO Registrar Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi informed reporters at the organization’s headquarters of the results’ release.
He disclosed that more than 60.55 percent of applicants received five or more English language and math credits. He continued by stating that 1,376,423 individuals registered for the test, with 706,950 males and 669,473 females.
The findings were further broken down by the NECO registrar: There were 1,367,736 candidates that took the exam, including 702,112 men and 665,624 women.
An additional breakdown of the results was given by the NECO registrar: “There were 1,367,736 candidates who took the exam, with 702,112 males and 665,624 females.”
There are 828,284 candidates, or 60.55%, who have five credits or more, including English and Mathematics.
“1,147,597 candidates, or 83.90%, have five credits or more, regardless of their proficiency in English and mathematics.”
Wushishi reported a notable decrease in exam-related misconduct this year as compared to last.
“There were 8,437 candidates involved in various forms of malpractice in 2024 as opposed to 12,030 in 2023, indicating a reduction of 30.1%,” the speaker said.
Additionally, the registrar disclosed that 40 schools were discovered to have engaged in widespread exam-day cheating. In the course of the 2024 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE), widespread cheating was discovered in 40 schools across 17 states.
Following a discussion with the Council at these schools, the proper consequences will be implemented.
It has been suggested that one Ekiti school be deregistered due to widespread cheating in two core subjects and one science subject.
Furthermore, it was suggested that 21 supervisors in 12 states be placed on a blacklist for inadequate supervision, absconding, extortion, aiding and abetting, intoxication, and incompetence.
He asked those who took the exam to go to the NECO website in order to view their scores.
