Paris Fashion week:Camila Cabello’s Stunning Runway Show
It’s the American showbiz rite of passage: once you’ve made it big, it’s time to strut your stuff across the pond. This year, Karla Camila Cabello, the triple threat Cuban-Mexican-American pop princess and Cardi B, the Bronx-born queen of rap, are in town to claim their stake in the Parisian fashion scene. They’re the latest stars to add a little stardust to the proceedings, and the French, British, and Italian houses are more than happy to oblige.
Our own triple threat, Camila Cabello, was oozing charisma at the “Le Défilé L’Oréal Paris – Walk Your Worth” show on September 23. Strutting her stuff like she owns the runway, she proved there’s no one better at the game than her. But, Camila wasn’t about to let that be her only head-turning look of the week.
Making sure to let Paris know who’s boss, Cabello arrived at the Rabanne show on September 25 in a mini dress and top studded with more lights than the Eiffel Tower. But, she wasn’t done yet. No, our pop queen had something even edgier up her sleeve (or, rather, on her face).
The Vetements show on September 27 saw Cabello decked out in a transparent black lace bodysuit, perfectly paired with a black mini and a giant black coat.
But the pièce de résistance? A black balaclava mask, a la Kanye “Ye” West, a trendsetter even in his current self-induced fashion flame-out. Vetements, the perennially edgy fashion house, is now retailing their own SWAT team-inspired balaclava masks. Proving that in fashion, no trend is ever truly dead, even when its originator has fallen from grace.
Underneath it all, Cabello remains the star she’s always been, but with a look that says, “I’m here.
