In a major development that is expected to alleviate the crippling petrol scarcity that has plagued Nigeria for years, the highly anticipated Dangote Refinery has rolled out its first batch of locally produced petrol.

Alhaji Aliko Dangote, the refinery’s billionaire founder, expressed his appreciation to the government of President Bola Tinubu for creating a conducive environment for the project’s fruition, noting its potential impact on the country’s economy and energy security.

“This refinery will provide energy to our people and fuel growth, development, and prosperity in Nigeria,” Dangote stated.

Dangote further commended the “Naira for crude, Naira for product” initiative spearheaded by the Tinubu administration, a measure that he believes will stabilize the Naira by reducing the demand for dollars by 40%.

The landmark event is a milestone in Nigeria’s quest for energy self-sufficiency, and many Nigerians are hopeful that this development will mark the beginning of a new era of economic stability and prosperity.
