The Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles, has officially opened its training camp in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, as they prepare for two vital 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying matches against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
The team’s interim manager, Augustine Eguavoen, who recently returned from medical leave in Belgium, led the coaching staff in welcoming the first two players to arrive in camp. Defender Victor Collins from Nasarawa United and midfielder Alhassan Yusuf of the New England Revolution arrived in Abidjan on Monday morning.
Collins, the only home-based player selected in the 23-man squad, is receiving his first call-up for these qualifiers.
