There Is No Guarantee Of Reduction In Prices – NNPCL
According to reports, NNPCL would start taking out petrol from the refinery on September 15.
The business noted that the pricing of petroleum products from any refinery, including the Dangote Refinery Ltd., is set by forces in the worldwide market in a statement released by its spokesman, Olufemi Soneye.
The Chief Corporate Communications Officer of NNPCL, Soneye, stated that there is no assurance that domestic product refining will result in lower prices.
“Global market forces determine the pricing of petroleum products from refineries, including the Dangote Refinery Ltd. (DRL),” he stated.
Soneye’s statement coincides with speculation that the business is seeking to control the whole supply of goods from Dangote Refinery Ltd.
“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) is allegedly undermining the Dangote Refinery Limited (DRL) through its acts, according to a news release from Muslim Rights Concern, or MURIC.
“More specifically, MURIC says that NNPC Ltd. has taken over as the only refinery offtaker and that recent adjustments to the Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) pump price will prohibit the Dangote Refinery from offering lower prices,” he said.
