Tuesday October 1 Public Holiday – FG

In a declaration made on behalf of the Federal Government, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has announced that Tuesday, October 1st 2024, will be a public holiday in commemoration of Nigeria’s 64th Independence Day.

Tunji-Ojo extended heartfelt congratulations to Nigerians across the globe and praised the citizens’ strength and dedication, assuring that their sacrifices will be rewarded.

With the theme of the anniversary, “The Labour of our Heroes Past,” Tunji-Ojo called on Nigerians to unite and work together to build a nation that embodies the dreams and aspirations of its citizens.

On this auspicious occasion, the minister encouraged all Nigerians to take a moment to reflect on the sacrifices made by their forefathers and to use this day as an opportunity to recommit themselves to the task of nation-building.

As the nation celebrates its 64th year of independence, the Minister’s call to unity and nation-building is particularly poignant. Nigeria, a nation rich in resources and cultural diversity, has faced its fair share of challenges, including political instability, economic struggles, and security threats.

However, Tunji-Ojo’s declaration and message of hope on this Independence Day serves as a reminder that despite these challenges, the Nigerian spirit remains strong. As the Minister has said, it is only through unity and a shared commitment to building a better future that Nigeria can fully realize its potential as a nation.
