Women Empowerment Set To Be Carried Out By MasterCard Foundation
Two events organized by the Mastercard Foundation to promote women’s economic empowerment and girls’ education in Africa will take place during the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA 79).
A recent source states that these will take place on September 22, 2024, at the Millenium Hilton New York, One UN Plaza Hotel. The conferences, with the themes “Invincible: Empowering Women, Transforming Africa” and “Powering Parity—Inclusive Education for a Sustainable Future,” will highlight effective educational strategies and look at ways to improve the economic status of women in Africa.
Additionally, the Mastercard Foundation plans to broaden its collaboration with projects aimed at supporting young women and girls. “As part of its Young Africa Works strategy, the Mastercard Foundation is committed to accelerating access to dignified and fulfilling work for 21 million young women in Africa by 2030,” the report stated.
“The Foundation is honored to work in partnership with outstanding organizations to jointly develop and implement solutions that have a significant positive impact on communities.
“Our strategy aligns well with the UNGA 79 general debate theme of leaving no one behind,” stated Tina Muparadzi, the Mastercard Foundation’s executive director of education and transitions.
