Ned Nwoko Accuses Regina Daniels, Her Brother Sammy of Drug Abuse and Domestic Disruption
Senator Ned Nwoko, husband of popular Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, has publicly accused her and members of her family of drug abuse, violent behavior, and domestic disruption.
In a detailed Facebook post dated November 8, 2025, Nwoko claimed that Regina’s brother, Sammy Daniels, repeatedly visited his home in an aggressive and disruptive manner, often harassing his children and domestic staff — especially when the senator was not around.
“These videos show Sammy repeatedly coming to my home and harassing my children and domestic staff,” Nwoko wrote. “His visits were often aggressive and disruptive.”
According to the senator, he had previously supported Sammy financially — sponsoring his university education at Ekpoma, providing musical equipment, renting and furnishing an apartment for him in Abuja, and offering continuous financial assistance to the entire family.
Nwoko also alleged that he transferred ₦125 million to Regina’s mother, Rita Daniels, over the last two years.
Alleged Drug Abuse and Rehabilitation Attempts
Nwoko said he noticed disturbing changes in Regina’s behavior, prompting him to arrange rehabilitation therapy. Doctors reportedly advised that Regina be kept away from people who might enable her substance use. However, Nwoko claimed that Sammy and other family members consistently defied medical instructions by smuggling in drugs and visiting without permission.
“They would come into the house uninvited, sometimes forcing their way in, bringing her the same drugs she was being treated for,” he said. “Instead of helping her recover, they encouraged her addiction.”
The senator alleged that Sammy and his friends, including Destiny, Lawrence, Sonia Uche Montana, and others, were also users of the same substances and had introduced Regina to them.
“Lawrence and Sammy were the ones who first supplied her with drugs. I do not drink or smoke. I am a vegetarian,” he emphasized.
Domestic Confrontations
Nwoko described several heated confrontations. In one instance, he claimed Regina entered his room at 4 a.m. while under the influence. When he asked her to leave, she told him that Sammy’s girlfriend was in her room — a person Nwoko said he had banned from the house for being an “enabler.”
After the girlfriend was escorted out, Nwoko said Sammy stormed the residence, shouting and demanding to confront him. The senator claimed he had to instruct security to remove Sammy from the premises physically.
“The level of audacity was shocking. Without the influence of drugs, could he have been so bold and disrespectful?” he wrote.

Nigerian singer Simi is facing online backlash after a 2012 tweet referencing a four-year-old boy resurfaced on social media.
He further alleged that Regina became hostile toward police officers and domestic staff, especially when denied permission to leave home. In some cases, she allegedly stayed out overnight and returned the next morning, claiming to have been at nightclubs.
“She once told me, ‘You are not my father, so don’t ask me where I was,’” he recalled.
Financial Support and Family Tension
Nwoko stated that he invested heavily in Regina’s welfare and career — including buying her a house in Asaba before their marriage. Despite these efforts, he claimed that her family’s interference made recovery and peace at home impossible.
He said the constant drama, defiance, and disregard for boundaries created “tension and fear” in the household.
The senator also denied allegations that he had sent thugs to attack Regina, clarifying that a viral video posted online was filmed in front of his house during his absence.
“Nobody was beaten, and the video was a scripted scene filmed outside my home,” he said.
A Plea for Rehabilitation
Nwoko concluded by urging Sammy to seek rehabilitation and live independently, saying the young man had refused opportunities for growth — including an offer to study in London.
“He needs a total rehab; otherwise, his violent behavior will continue,” Nwoko said, adding that Sammy had been arrested several times by the police and the EFCC.
Public Reactions
The revelations have triggered widespread reactions across social media.
While some commenters praised Nwoko for “finally speaking out” and accused Regina’s family of manipulation, others criticized the senator for “publicly humiliating” his wife and questioned his judgment in marrying a much younger woman.
One commenter wrote:
“That’s what you face when you marry a small girl who bumped into luxury life unexpectedly. Juvenile attitude, and that’s what’s ruining the youth of today — drugs.”
Another user defended Nwoko’s stance, writing:
“Ned is the victim here. He took care of that family, and they turned against him.”
However, others expressed concern about the senator’s decision to air private family matters publicly, calling it “petty” and “unbecoming of a lawmaker.”
As of now, neither Regina Daniels nor her family has officially responded to the allegations.
