Job Title: Training Manager
Location: Ode Remo, Ogun State
Employment Type: Full-time

Reports To: Group Managing Director (GMD) and Director of Operations

Job Summary

The Training Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing structured training and development programs that enhance technical skills, operational efficiency, safety compliance, and leadership capability across the organization. The role plays a critical part in improving production performance, quality standards, and long-term workforce development by aligning learning initiatives with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Training Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute annual training plans aligned with production, quality, and corporate goals

  • Conduct comprehensive Training Needs Analysis (TNA) across production, engineering, quality, maintenance, and support functions

  • Prepare and manage training budgets while optimizing internal and external training resources

Technical & Operational Training

  • Design and coordinate technical training covering automobile assembly, manufacturing processes, equipment operation, maintenance, and quality standards

  • Collaborate with Production, R&D, Quality Assurance, and Maintenance teams to deliver specialized automotive training programs

  • Coordinate OEM- and vendor-led technical training sessions and certification programs

Compliance, Safety & Quality Training

  • Ensure delivery of mandatory training on HSE, ISO/IATF standards, SOPs, and regulatory requirements

  • Maintain accurate training records to support audits, certifications, and regulatory inspections

Leadership & Soft Skills Development

  • Develop leadership, supervisory, and behavioral skills programs for managers, supervisors, and team leads

  • Support succession planning, talent development, and career progression initiatives

Training Delivery & Facilitation

  • Facilitate internal training sessions, workshops, and onboarding programs

  • Identify, engage, and manage external trainers and training institutions where necessary

Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting

  • Track training effectiveness using assessments, feedback, and performance indicators

  • Prepare periodic training reports and present insights and recommendations to management

  • Continuously improve training programs based on feedback and operational outcomes

Learning Systems & Documentation

  • Manage Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital training records

  • Maintain up-to-date training materials, manuals, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

Job Requirements

Educational Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. or HND in Education, Educational Management, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Psychology, Sociology, or a related discipline

  • Professional certifications such as CIPM, CITD, SHRM, CIPD, NITAD, or equivalent are an added advantage

Additional Requirements:

  • Certification in Training Needs Analysis (TNA)

  • Working knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS)

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles (Andragogy)

  • Proven experience in training design, facilitation, and evaluation

Experience:

  • 7–12 years’ experience in Training and Development

  • At least 4–6 years’ experience within an automobile manufacturing or similar industrial environment

  • Demonstrated experience delivering technical and operational training programs

Technical Skills:

  • Strong understanding of automobile manufacturing processes and production environments

  • Knowledge of training cycles, competency frameworks, and performance management systems

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, presentation software, and LMS platforms

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities

  • Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Strong planning, organizational, and time-management capabilities

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
