Job Overview
The Area Business Manager will be responsible for coordinating sales, collections, and distribution operations within the assigned area. The role involves managing a direct distribution network for Sun King’s Pay-As-You-Go solar products (EasyBuy model) through a team of field agents known as Energy Officers. The position carries full accountability for sales performance, collection efficiency, customer satisfaction, and sustainable business growth within the territory.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will recruit, train, and retain a team of Energy Officers, ensuring adequate coverage across assigned communities. This includes working with local influencers such as village leaders, teachers, religious heads, and other community stakeholders to identify suitable sales talent and strengthen Sun King’s local presence.

You will provide continuous training and supervision to Energy Officers on sales processes, collections, product knowledge, inventory handling, logistics, and customer engagement. The role requires clear communication of daily responsibilities, sales routes, performance targets, and collection plans.
Regular field engagement is expected, including joint sales visits, weekly check-ins, market activations, and community outreach activities. The Area Business Manager will monitor daily sales and collection performance, resolve field challenges, and provide regular reports to the Regional Business Manager.
Additional responsibilities include ensuring timely resolution of customer issues, monitoring competitor activity within the territory, managing marketing and operational expenses efficiently, organizing weekly review meetings with Energy Officers, recognizing top performers, and expanding the retail network within the assigned area.
Requirements
Applicants should possess a degree in a business-related field or its equivalent, with at least three years of hands-on experience in sales or field operations. Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, are required. Candidates should have solid customer service experience, strong organizational and planning abilities, relationship management skills, and good knowledge of the assigned territory.
