On behalf of a hospitality company, BluePeak Consulting is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Internal Auditor to independently assess financial and operational processes, evaluate risk management systems, and ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory standards.

Job Summary

The Internal Auditor will provide independent and objective assurance on the effectiveness of internal controls, financial processes, risk management, and compliance across all hospitality business units, including restaurants, lounges, event centres, and cafés. The role requires hands-on experience in hospitality auditing, with a strong emphasis on revenue assurance, cash handling, cost control, inventory management, and fraud prevention.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will plan and execute periodic internal audits across all business units, reviewing financial records, accounting systems, and transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness. Responsibilities include auditing daily revenues, POS reports, cash handling processes, bank lodgements, and reconciliations.

The Internal Auditor will verify compliance with approved budgets, financial policies, and management authorizations, while reviewing procurement, inventory, and store management processes to minimize losses and leakages. The role also involves assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of internal control systems and identifying financial, operational, and compliance risks.

Additional duties include detecting, investigating, and reporting suspected fraud or financial misconduct, recommending control improvements, supporting disciplinary processes with audit evidence, and preparing clear and timely audit reports for management. The auditor will follow up on the implementation of corrective actions and maintain proper audit documentation and working papers.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline. A minimum of four years’ hands-on experience in internal and financial auditing is required, with proven experience in a hospitality environment.

Professional certification such as ACA is an added advantage. Strong knowledge of hospitality revenue cycles, POS systems, inventory control, and cost management will be considered a significant asset.
