Job Title: Quality Engineer – Product Quality Assurance
Location: Abuja

Role Summary
The Quality Engineer will apply quality engineering principles and technical expertise to maintain and improve the site Quality Management System (QMS). The role supports inspection, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure that high-quality finished products are delivered consistently to customers.

Key Responsibilities

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE)
Actively participate in assigned HSE programs and initiatives.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in line with 6S standards.
Review all Operational Risk Assessments (ORA), Hazard Risk Assessments (HRA), Management of Change (MOC), and work permits prior to commencing work.
Exercise Stop Work authority whenever unsafe conditions are identified.

Quality Management
Ensure full compliance with the OFSE People PRIMED Competence Management Program and all quality requirements.
Authorize Stop Work when quality risks are identified and escalate issues appropriately.
Maintain, update, and align site-specific quality documents with global QMS standards.
Organize and support site management reviews related to quality performance.

Production & Continuous Improvement
Lead and facilitate root cause analysis for non-conformities, working closely with Manufacturing Engineering teams.
Drive corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects, scrap, rework, and quality escapes.
Track, trend, and analyze QMS data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Support inspection planning, testing methods, and inspection frequencies across the plant.
Set up and maintain inspection plans, QIRs, and skip-lot controls within SAP.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed quality into products and processes.
Support internal and external quality audits as a Subject Matter Expert (SME).
Contribute to global standardization of quality processes across manufacturing plants.

Identify cost-reduction and efficiency improvement opportunities and escalate for review and implementation.

Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent relevant experience.
Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working with Quality Management Systems.
Proven experience in quality policy and procedure development.
Strong knowledge of oil and gas industry technical and regulatory frameworks.
Comprehensive understanding of API Spec Q1/Q2, ISO 9001:2015, and ISO 29001 standards.
Hands-on experience developing and implementing QA/QC plans, ITPs, Product Quality Plans (PQPs), and process maps.
Familiarity with Baker Hughes QMS processes is an advantage.
