Job Overview
The Senior Research & Insights Associate will sit within the Marketing function and report directly to the Market Research & Insights Manager. This role is central to ensuring that customer perspectives, market intelligence, and data-driven insights inform marketing strategies and broader business decisions. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping and executing the market research agenda across Anglophone West and Central Africa.
Working closely with cross-functional teams including Marketing, Product, Sales, Customer Care, and Operations, the role requires a strong ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights that drive growth, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Research Planning, Execution, and Coordination:

Plan, design, and manage both quantitative and qualitative research projects from initial briefing through execution, analysis, and presentation.

Develop research instruments, sampling frameworks, and data collection methodologies tailored to business objectives.

Coordinate with external research agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure data quality and methodological rigor.
Voice of the Customer:

Gather, analyze, and interpret customer feedback to ensure customer perspectives are embedded across products, services, and communications.

Conduct in-depth research to uncover customer needs, motivations, pain points, and usage behaviors.
Market Intelligence:

Monitor and analyze the competitive landscape across solar energy and PAYGO phone markets.

Track competitor products, pricing, distribution models, and promotional strategies to identify opportunities and risks.
Data Synthesis and Reporting:

Correlate sales data, survey findings, and other data sources to generate meaningful insights.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.

4–6 years of experience in market research, consumer insights, or similar roles.

Proficiency in data analysis tools such as SPSS, Excel, Python, or Stata.

Strong analytical and data synthesis skills with experience in insight generation and reporting.

Proven experience designing and executing qualitative and quantitative research projects.

Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills.

Familiarity with business visualization tools and Anglophone African market research trends.
