Peter Obi Donates ₦15 Million to Support Primary Health Centre in Amafor, Ihuobala
Former Anambra State Governor and Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has once again extended financial support to the ongoing construction and equipping of a primary health centre in Amafor, Ihuobala, located in Nkanu East Local Government Area of Enugu State. During his visit, Obi donated an additional ₦15 million to the Anglican Bishop of Enugu, The Rt. Rev. Prof. Samuel Obiajulu Ike, who initiated and built the facility as part of the Church’s community development efforts.
Obi began his visit at the Bishop’s residence in Enugu before proceeding to the project site. Expressing satisfaction with the level of progress achieved, he recalled his initial donation earlier in the year. “I was here some months ago and gave ₦20 million, promising to remain committed to the completion of this health project. Today, I’m impressed and pleasantly surprised to see that the building is already completed. If this were a typical government project, variations might still be under processing,” he remarked.
He praised Bishop Ike for his leadership and foresight in extending development projects beyond urban centres, bringing essential services closer to rural dwellers. Obi highlighted the importance of strategic interventions in underserved communities, noting that faith-based initiatives often deliver results with efficiency and accountability.
“Seeing the Bishop take development to a rural community like Amafor inspires hope. This is what true leadership looks like—identifying the needs of the people and implementing practical solutions. His dedication demonstrates the transformative role the Church can play when vision meets action,” Obi stated.
