Lagos Governor Sanwo-Olu Hands Over Seat to Student Esther Etiyemonu as One-Day Governor
Lagos State witnessed a symbolic transfer of leadership on Monday as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu handed over his official seat to student Esther Etiyemonu, who emerged winner of the 2025/2026 Lagos State Spelling Bee competition.
The event, which forms part of an educational and leadership initiative in the state, saw Etiyemonu assume the role of “One-Day Governor,” allowing her to experience the responsibilities and environment of executive leadership in Lagos.
