As part of its expanding Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) deployment project in Ibadan, the company is recruiting qualified professionals to fill the role of Fiber Splicing Technician.

Job Summary
The Fiber Splicing Technician will be responsible for carrying out precise fiber optic splicing and testing activities on FTTH projects. The role focuses on delivering low-loss fiber joints and ensuring high-quality signal transmission across deployed networks through accurate and well-documented field operations.
Key Responsibilities

Perform fusion splicing of optical fibers in ODFs, cabinets, handholes, and closures.

Conduct OTDR, power meter, and light source testing after splicing activities.

Accurately follow fiber jointing plans, splicing schedules, and color code standards.

Install and properly organize fiber closures, splitters, pigtails, and splice trays.

Document splice points, fiber routes, and test results clearly and accurately.

Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve fiber signal losses and mismatches.

Work closely with the OSP Splicing Supervisor to achieve daily operational targets.

Requirements

Technical Certificate or Diploma in Telecommunications, Electronics, or a related discipline.

Minimum of two years’ hands-on experience in fiber optic splicing and testing, preferably in FTTH environments.

Strong proficiency in the use of fusion splicers, OTDRs, power meters, and fiber cleaning tools.

Sound knowledge of fiber color codes, routing methods, and splitter configurations.

Ability to work in outdoor OSP environments such as poles, chambers, and roadside installations.

High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Basic reporting and documentation skills.
