Christmas: PDP National Chairman Kabir Tanimu Turaki Calls for Unity, Hope, and Renewed Commitment to Nigeria
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Kabir Tanimu Turaki, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (FCMI), has extended his Christmas greetings to Nigerians, using the occasion to call for unity, reflection, and a renewed commitment to national development and democratic values.
In his Christmas message, Dr. Turaki described the festive season as a period of deep reflection, compassion, and love, urging Nigerians to draw inspiration from the values associated with Christmas, particularly sacrifice, peace, and service to humanity. He noted that despite the economic and social challenges facing the country, Nigerians must not lose hope in the possibility of a better and more inclusive nation.
According to the PDP chairman, Christmas serves as a reminder of the importance of collective responsibility and shared destiny, stressing that Nigeria’s progress depends on the willingness of citizens and leaders alike to put the common good above personal or sectional interests. He encouraged Nigerians to use the season to strengthen bonds across ethnic, religious, and political divides.
Dr. Turaki also used the message to address members and supporters of the Peoples Democratic Party, calling for calm, loyalty, and renewed dedication to the party’s founding principles. He acknowledged that the PDP has faced internal disagreements and public scrutiny in recent times but maintained that such challenges are not unusual in large political organisations.

The PDP chairman urged party leaders at all levels to prioritise reconciliation and unity, warning that disunity only weakens the party’s capacity to effectively engage and serve the Nigerian people. He stressed that the interests of the party must always align with the broader interests of the nation, especially at a time when many Nigerians are grappling with economic hardship, insecurity, and declining living standards.
Dr. Turaki further called on Christians to reflect deeply on the teachings of Jesus Christ, particularly love for one another, humility, and justice. He appealed to political leaders to lead by example, showing empathy toward the less privileged and committing themselves to policies that promote social welfare and economic opportunity.
