“I have not been able to concentrate since morning because of the accusations that I introduced my teenage daughter to alcohol,” she said. “My phone has not stopped ringing. Simi is a minor; she doesn’t drink. I only took her to the club, and no alcohol was involved. I never served her alcohol. That statement was a mistake, and I sincerely apologize.”
Bakare went on to express regret over the comment, saying she had not realized she made such a statement during the interview. “It was never intentional. I didn’t know I said in the interview that I gave her alcohol—it was a slip of tongue. I deeply apologize to my daughter, to all parents, and to everyone who felt disappointed. This is exactly why I’m always cautious about interviews,” she added.
The actress emphasized that she took her daughter to the club as part of a bonding experience, not to expose her to adult activities. She said her parenting style focuses on openness and trust, not indulgence or moral laxity.
