NDLEA Arrests Lekki Real Estate Executive Kolapo Oladapo Over Alleged Drug Distribution Network
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has confirmed the arrest of a Lagos-based real estate executive, Kolapo Oladapo, over his alleged involvement in a drug distribution operation.
According to a statement released by the agency, Oladapo was apprehended on February 12, 2026, at his residence in the Ikate area of Lekki, Lagos, shortly after returning from the United Kingdom. The arrest followed what officials described as a coordinated nationwide anti-narcotics operation targeting high-profile suspects on the agency’s watchlist.
NDLEA officials disclosed that a search conducted at the suspect’s residence led to the recovery of four large bags containing 89.2 kilograms of a cannabis strain popularly known as “Canadian Loud.” The agency also reported the seizure of a 2024 Toyota Hilux vehicle during the operation.
Allegations of Distribution Network
Oladapo, who reportedly presented himself publicly as the chairman and chief executive officer of a real estate firm known as Trans Fortress Global, is alleged to have been involved in narcotics distribution beyond personal possession.
According to NDLEA sources, the suspect was placed under surveillance last year as part of ongoing investigations into drug trafficking activities linked to individuals operating within Lagos and other major urban centers.
During interrogation, the agency claims that Oladapo admitted to establishing his own drug distribution channel after previously financing shipments for an associate overseas. He allegedly told investigators that significant financial returns from earlier consignments motivated him to expand operations independently.

“He claimed he got involved in the illicit drug trade after financing some consignments for his overseas associate. Hundreds of millions of naira paid to him as profit by his associate motivated him to establish his own independent distribution channel,” the agency stated.
NDLEA officials emphasized that investigations are ongoing and that further arrests could follow as authorities seek to identify additional individuals linked to the alleged network.
Other Arrests in Coordinated Operations
The agency also announced several other arrests in separate operations across the country.
At the Seme land border, operatives arrested a 35-year-old businesswoman, Rabi Muhammad, who allegedly attempted to cross into the Benin Republic with a concealed consignment of tramadol capsules. Authorities said she had strapped approximately 3,200 capsules to her body under a fabricated baby bump in an effort to evade detection.
In another case, a 41-year-old Ivorian national, Michael Gohouri — also known as Anunwa Michael — was arrested at Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport while attempting to board an Ethiopian Airlines flight to Milan, Italy.
NDLEA officials stated that body scans revealed he had ingested 82 wraps of cocaine weighing approximately 1.49 kilograms. The suspect reportedly claimed he had been promised €5,000 to transport the narcotics to Europe.
Agency’s Ongoing Crackdown
The NDLEA has intensified enforcement activities in recent months, targeting suspected trafficking networks operating through air, land, and residential distribution channels.
While authorities have not disclosed the full scope of the investigation involving Oladapo, officials say the arrest reflects a broader strategy to dismantle organized drug operations, including those allegedly concealed behind legitimate business fronts.
Legal proceedings are expected to commence following the conclusion of preliminary investigations. Under Nigerian law, suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
The agency reiterated its commitment to combating drug trafficking and warned that individuals engaged in narcotics-related activities would face prosecution regardless of social status or professional standing.
