Support Group Heads Endorse Gov. Umo Eno, Sen. Akpabio, President Tinubu for Re-election at Glory Summit in Eket
Heads of various political and faith-based support groups in Akwa Ibom State have unanimously endorsed Governor Umo Eno, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was the highlight of the October edition of the Glory Summit, a monthly fasting and prayer programme held on Friday at The Apostolic Church, Ukwa Area Headquarters, Eket Field, along Eket–Oro Road. The event, themed “Your Faith is Your Servant” (Luke 17:6), was organized by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Support Groups, Pastor Samuel Edet, Ph.D.
The programme brought together over 2,700 group heads representing different political and socio-religious bodies from the three senatorial districts of Akwa Ibom State. It featured intercessory prayers, praise sessions, and messages centered on faith, leadership, and unity.
In his opening remarks, Pastor Edet expressed gratitude to God for what he described as “an unimaginable height made possible by divine grace,” noting that the Directorate of Support Groups had continued to record progress since its creation. He said the Directorate was divinely mandated to intercede for the state and its leadership, stressing that previous editions of the Glory Summit held in Uyo and Ikono had produced “incredible testimonies of faith and transformation.”
Quoting from Luke 17:6, Edet said, “If your faith is as small as a mustard seed, it will definitely obey you today,” emphasizing that faith, when activated, could transform both individuals and communities.

Delivering the keynote sermon, Pastor Edward Thompson of The Apostolic Church urged participants to put their faith into practical action, describing it as “the engine room through which believers can achieve anything.” He commended Governor Eno for his people-oriented leadership, particularly the state’s housing intervention scheme, which, according to him, had benefited many Akwa Ibom residents regardless of political affiliation.
“Eight years is guaranteed because the righteous is on the throne,” Pastor Thompson declared, drawing applause from attendees.
During the endorsement session, Rt. Hon. Ignatius Edet, Deaconess (Rt. Hon.) Owoidighe Ekpoatai, and Hon. (Sir) Imo Sylvanus Udo jointly moved and seconded a motion on behalf of all group heads to endorse Governor Eno, Senate President Akpabio, and President Tinubu for another term in office. The motion was unanimously adopted by the 2,758 group heads present.
Speaking on behalf of the group heads, Rt. Hon. Edet — who represented the Uyo Senatorial District — praised Governor Eno for his developmental strides under the ARISE Agenda, which he said had positively impacted lives across the state. Deaconess Ekpoatai, who represented the Eket Senatorial District, lauded the governor’s achievements in education, health, agriculture, tourism, and social welfare.
Hon. Udo, representing the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, applauded Senator Akpabio for fostering cooperation between the legislative and executive arms of government, and commended President Tinubu’s ongoing economic reforms aimed at stabilizing the nation’s economy.
The event also featured the presentation of an Endorsement Award of Excellence to Governor Eno, received on his behalf by Pastor Edet. Attendees were presented with customized “Support Groups for Umo Eno” writing pads as souvenirs.
Notable dignitaries in attendance included Apostle N.O. Essien, Ph.D (Royal Ukwa Area Superintendent); Pastor E. Eyoeshiet (Royal Ukwa Assembly); Pastor S. Tom (Ukwa District); Pastor I. Matthew (Ukwa Assembly); Pastor F. Akpan (Airstrip International District); and Pastor I. Okon (Akai 1 District). Also present were political figures such as Mr. Victor Etangnkanga, Mr. Victor Preacher, Elder Ime Frank Akpan, and several local government representatives.
The October Glory Summit concluded with intercessory prayers for Governor Eno and his family, members of the State Executive Council, Akwa Ibom State, and Nigeria. Participants pledged continued support for the administration’s policies and programs ahead of the 2027 polls.
