Police Arrest Suspect Who Hid Pistol Inside Loaf of Bread in Delta State
The Delta State Police Command has arrested a suspected armed robber identified as Stanley Chibuike, 24, for allegedly concealing a pistol inside a loaf of bread. The unusual discovery occurred during a routine police operation at Koka Roundabout in Asaba, the Delta State capital, on Thursday, November 6, 2025.
According to a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Bright Edafe, the arrest was made by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), who were conducting stop-and-search checks in the area. Edafe explained that the suspect’s behavior raised suspicion, prompting officers to conduct a more detailed inspection.
“In the course of the search, a fabricated Beretta pistol was discovered carefully concealed inside a loaf of bread,” the statement read. “The suspect, later identified as Nnamdi Stanley Chibuike, was immediately arrested and taken into custody.”
The police have since recovered the weapon as evidence while investigations continue into possible connections between the suspect and incidents of armed robbery or kidnapping in Asaba and its surrounding communities.
